Conference Parking

We will be utilizing three parking garages in the historic downtown Portsmouth area for the ACCS Conference, all are in sight of the hotel.  Please refer to the information below for important details:

Staying at the Conference Hotel  – Renaissance Portsmouth

If you are staying overnight at the Renaissance Portsmouth Hotel (425 Water Street) please park in the attached hotel garage (no charge to attendee)

Overflow Overnight Renaissance Hotel parking (if needed) and Day Commuters with vehicles under 6’2”

In the unlikely event the hotel parking garage is full, or you are commuting to the conference each day please park  on the 4th and 5th floors in the Harbor Court Parking Garage (2 Harbor Court). Parking in the Harbor Court Parking Garage will be on the 4th and 5th floors, and signage will be in place directing you.   Overnight parking is usually prohibited in the visitors’ area on the top level of the Harbor Court Garage, but an exception will be made during this conference and Police Security has been informed of that.  You will not need anything to enter or exit this garage – no charge to attendee.

Vehicles over 6’2” and Overflow Day Commuters

If you are commuting to the conference each day and your vehicle is over 6’2” but less than 6’10” please park in the Middle Street Parking Garage (441 Middle Street).  In the Middle Street Parking Garage, attendees may park in any space not marked reserved. All of the reserved spaces are on the first floor. When you exit this garage you will need to tell the parking attendant that you are with the ACCS Conference so you will not be charged for their parking.  In the VERY UNLIKELY event Harbor Court is full,  Middle Street garage can be used.  If your vehicle is over 6’10”, please contact Hope Adams at adamsh@vcu.edu  for parking assignment.

Special Notes for Hotel Guests staying at Marriott Waterside, Sheraton Waterside and the Courtyard

Please note if you are staying at any of the Norfolk hotels we encourage you to take the ferry from the hotel to the Renaissance Hotel and avoid the traffic!   Ferry tickets will be provided to you at check in.  If you have any issues regarding your ferry tickets, please see Hope Adams at the ACCS registration desk when you arrive at the conference hotel or email her at adamsh@vcu.edu.
